The book of Proverbs is truly a deep well of wisdom on how to excel in life and succeed in achieving our destiny. The Spirit of God downloaded these words, and Solomon physically wrote them. The kingdom of God is brought into the earth as we put this godly wisdom into practice. What a great team to be part of…
How does a man gain the essence of wisdom?
True revelation of what wisdom is, unfolds an encounter – an experience of knowing God as He is revealed through the mysterious vocabulary of riddle, proverb and parable. – Brian Simmonds Passion Bible
Book of Proverbs tells us that
Within these wise sayings, will be found revelations of wisdom and impartation of spiritual understanding which will bring keys to unlock true knowledge.
Those who apply these words will receive discipline in every relationship to choose what is right and just and fair.- Proverbs 1:2-3
If we are going to live counter culture, we must take the first step to cross the threshold of true knowledge. This step, is to chose to live in obedient devotion to God.
Stubborn know-it-alls will never stop to do this, for they scorn true wisdom and knowledge-Proverbs 1:7
The Book of Proverbs is a book written by Solomon, who asked God for a discerning heart. This pleased God so much, that he gave Solomon not only wisdom but riches and power as well. ( This could be worth a try!) Solomon is said to be the wisest man who ever lived, who wrote the wisest words ever written.
So what exactly is a proverb? Just a bunch of wise, pithy sayings? A list of rules to follow?
A proverb is a wise saying but it also means “to rule, reign in power, take dominion over” your own life. That sounds like living counter culture to me. We do not have to believe everything that is served up every night on the 6pm News or the social media which blasts into our life, if we let it. We do not need to allow and believe the indoctrination that flows freely from every sphere of influence in our lives, culture and mainstream society. Indoctrination from our government, our education systems, our media, etc and sometimes even our church.
These proverbs will give us great skill to teach the immature and make them wise, to give youth the understanding of their design and destiny. For the wise, these proverbs will make them even wiser, and for those with discernment, you will be able to acquire brilliant strategies for leadership. – Proverbs 1:4-5
I’m asking for discernment, just like Solomon did. I love the results he got from that prayer.
Come on this journey with me into the book of Proverbs where together we can find out more about this incredible wisdom from above.
